WOW! It was definitely worth paying to go see the beautiful colored canyons. We knew this was a once in a lifetime opportunity therefore we just had to do it! The city of Page, Arizona is located on the Navajo Indian Reservation. We were surrounded by the sweetest people, who took time to educate our family about the Navajo culture.
God blessed us with the best tour guide we could of ever asked for. His name was Mr. Preston. Mr. Preston is a Navajo Indian and he made this tour the best experience possible! He was great with the kids, always knowing how to make them laugh and occupying their interests. He took the most amazing pictures with my phone so we could have to look at for years to come! Taking this tour of the beautiful colored canyons has been my favorite thing we have done so far. It blew our minds that this slot was created from water rushing through and carving out the most beautiful images our eyes have ever seen. It looked very unreal, almost as if someone carved it out and painted it themself. It’s hard to explain the way our hearts felt standing in this canyon. We were overwhelmed by the beauty and filled with pure wonder. Knowing this is just one of the thousands upon thousands of natural sites to see on this earth, is simply very cool! I’m sure the prettiest sites and well kept secrets are waiting for families to stumble upon as they explore. Other families who have traveled for years always tell us that their favorite places they visited, were not the popular ones where everyone travels to. The sites that they thought were the neatest were always the ones off the beaten paths in which they discovered themselves! Our family hopes to discover many hidden gems this next year. Maybe we will share them with you, maybe we wont. 🙂
