This was a beautiful FREE campground in Louisiana that we were able to camp at. The Corney Lake Unit includes the Corney Lake Recreation Area which is a beautiful 2,300 acre reservoir which has become a very popular fishing destination. Facilities are included on both sides of the lake with the south shore offering more modern fixtures. Only one other family was camping here. There were fishermen that would come and go during the day but the they were all very kind! The camping area is set far apart from the boat launch area. This is a very peaceful and private camping area. The lake was absolutely beautiful! Every direction you turned, the picture was just amazing. I could not get enough pictures here due to the panoramic view of this lake! The grounds were very well kept. We had the best time biking all around the recreation area. There is a huge dam across the lake that we were able to bike to and walk across. There are lots of acres to roam and explore. No one will get bored here that’s for sure! A side note, there is a old man that lives nearby named Mr. Lee. He has nothing else to do with his time than to drive over and check out the campground throughout the day. He is perfectly harmless! We named him Ranger Lee 😉
